The CatEye Triple shot is one of the best on the market. The improvement in LED lights is so great and the price has come down so much that there really isn't any competition any more. They're small, they are very inexpensive to make and to buy and they are very easy on batteries as well. They are cool when they operate, the bulbs last forever and they are rugged, at least those made by the good manufacturers. It is no wonder all the manufacturers are using them these days. There still are differences in LEDs. The quality of the diode between a cheap flasher and one that is made from high-spec emitters made for top of the line off-road lamps is unbelievable. The batteries have a waterproof hardcover-box which can easily be carried in a backpack or your jersey pocket. The three LED certainly do a super impressive job of lighting up a trail. It has an incredibly bright central beam which offers a good view of the distance along with plenty of what surrounds it.
